Encryption is a coding of data when they are written on the GStor Desk media. It is executed by a single chip controller in real time. When data are read from GStor Desk media, the single chip controller executes data decoding in real time also. ExcelStor use a proprietary 64-bit Encryption in GStor Desk.

The manufacturer ExcelStor has designed a special single chip controller. This single chip controller is located on the special hard disk drive which is assembled in GStor Desk.

20. Will the Encryption function slow down the GStor Desk read/write speed?
No, by using the hardware encryption, there is no loss of performance in comparison to usual software based solutions.
